A Short Prayer From a Longer Path

St. Louis Marie de Montfort (1673-1716) taught a structured, multi-week preparation leading to a "Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary" — a formal, one-time act of entrusting one's whole self, actions, and merits to Christ through Mary's hands. He then recommended a much shorter prayer for daily or monthly renewal of that same consecration, so the commitment would not be a single ceremony but a living, repeated act. Pope St. John Paul II credited de Montfort's writings with shaping his own Marian spirituality and papal motto, Totus Tuus ("Totally Yours").
